Platform Architect

About the Role
As a Platform Architect, you will lead the evolution of Rapsodo's backend, frontend, and mobile ecosystem into a scalable, unified platform. Working across multiple engineering teams, you'll define architectural standards, drive modernization initiatives, and shape the technical foundation that powers the next generation of Rapsodo products.
What You'll Do
- Define the long-term platform architecture and modernization roadmap across backend, frontend, and mobile systems.
- Design shared platform services by identifying common capabilities while defining clear boundaries for product-specific domains.
- Establish architecture standards, service boundaries, API contracts, ownership models, and scalable integration patterns.
- Lead modernization initiatives using proven migration strategies such as Strangler Fig, feature flags, backward-compatible APIs, and incremental delivery.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate system design, documentation, code reviews, and engineering productivity.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and QA teams to improve platform scalability, deployment, observability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers, lead architecture and design reviews, and contribute hands-on through coding, refactoring, and technical validation.
- Maintain architectural documentation, decision records, and platform governance while driving engineering best practices across teams.
- What We're Looking For Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience as a Software Architect, Platform Architect, or in a similar technical leadership role.
- Proven experience modernizing complex software platforms and transforming monolithic or fragmented systems into modular architectures.
- Deep understanding of microservices modular monoliths service-oriented architecture (SOA), and domain-driven design (DDD)
- Strong backend development experience with Go (Golang) and/or Node.js, along with solid proficiency in object-oriented languages such as
- C#
Java
- , or Kotlin
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as
- React or Vue, and a strong understanding of full-stack architecture.
- Strong experience designing scalable APIs, service contracts, authentication and authorization flows, and distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (
Google Cloud Platform
or AWS ), Docker, messaging systems, object storage, and modern cloud-native architectures.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as
- Claude Code
- GitHub Copilot
- Cursor, or similar solutions within engineering workflows.
- Strong database design experience with PostgreSQL
MongoDB
- , or similar technologies.
- Ability to balance long-term architectural vision with incremental product delivery and business priorities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
