A LoopCV alternative for people who want to be read
LoopCV's own description: upload your CV once and it auto-applies to hundreds of matching jobs every week on LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and more. Shortlist makes the opposite bet: fewer applications, on the employer's own form, each one tailored and approved.
What LoopCV does
LoopCV is built around a loop: it scans job boards on a schedule, matches postings to the preferences you set, and applies, attaching the CV you uploaded, at a volume of hundreds a week. It also sends emails to companies on your behalf. The appeal is that a search runs itself.
The trade is the one every high-volume tool makes. The application is the same file each time, sent through boards rather than the company's own page, and the review happens after the fact, in a log. For some searches that is fine. For a targeted one it is not, and recruiters can tell an application that was written for them from one that was not.
How Shortlist differs
Shortlist is an AI job application agent that applies on the employer's own careers page, on Greenhouse, Ashby, Workable, Lever, Workday and Rippling forms. It never applies through LinkedIn, Indeed or Glassdoor.
Each application is prepared for that posting. The resume's summary and points are reordered and reworded toward the job, and never given a skill, a figure or an employer that is not in your own record. You see the result before it goes, or you set a rule and Pip applies only to jobs that clear it, then mails you what went out.
It is fast where it counts. Company career pages are read every six hours, and a new match can be applied to on the same pass, minutes after the posting, rather than in the next weekly loop.
Side by side
| LoopCV | Shortlist | |
|---|---|---|
| Sources | LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and other boards, by its own description | Company career pages, read every six hours |
| Where it applies | Through the boards | On the employer's own form |
| Volume | Hundreds a week | The number you set, from three a day to thirty |
| Resume | The CV you uploaded | Tailored toward each posting, from your record only |
| Approval | Runs on its own | Per application, or by a rule you set |
| Unanswerable questions | Best effort | Waits for you |
Who should still pick LoopCV
Someone whose search is broad, who wants the most applications out with the least involvement, and who is fine with the boards as the channel. Shortlist is for a search where each application should be one you would have written yourself, sent where the hiring team reads.
Cost
Ten applications free, no card. Then plans by the week. See the board before you sign up: if your roles are not on it, you have lost nothing.
