  • We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented
  • Senior Import Executive to manage end-to-end import operations while ensuring timely clearance, accurate documentation, and compliance with applicable customs and import regulations.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Import-Export processes, customs compliance, import regulations, and Customs Regulations, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping agents, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end import operations, from shipment initiation through customs clearance and final delivery.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, and other required documents.
  • Coordinate with Customs Brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and logistics partners for timely shipment clearance.

Ensure compliance with applicable

  • customs regulations, import regulations, trade policies, and statutory requirements
  • Monitor import shipments and provide regular updates on shipment status, clearance, delivery schedules, and potential delays.
  • Review import documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission for customs clearance.
  • Coordinate customs clearance activities and resolve documentation, classification, valuation, or regulatory issues.
  • Support accurate determination of HS codes, customs duties, taxes, and applicable import charges
  • Monitor customs assessments and coordinate with relevant parties to address discrepancies or queries.
  • Ensure timely payment and documentation of customs duties, taxes, freight, and other import-related charges.
  • Maintain accurate records of import shipments, customs documents, duty payments, and clearance activities.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Accounts teams for import costing, duty reconciliation, and shipment-related payments.
  • Liaise with suppliers and overseas vendors regarding shipping documentation, dispatch schedules, and compliance requirements.
  • Work with internal teams to align import schedules with inventory and business requirements.
  • Identify potential compliance risks, shipment delays, documentation gaps, and additional costs and take corrective action.
  • Stay updated on changes in Customs Regulations, import procedures, trade policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete and organised import documentation.
  • Prepare import reports, shipment trackers, clearance summaries, and other operational reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve import processes, reduce clearance timelines, and optimise logistics costs.
  • Ensure proper filing, retention, and accessibility of import and customs documentation.

What Makes You a Great Fit

3+ years of experience in Import-Export, import operations, logistics, international trade, or a related function.

Strong hands-on experience managing

  • end-to-end import processes
  • Good knowledge of customs compliance, import regulations, and Customs Regulations
  • Strong understanding of customs clearance procedures, documentation, duties, taxes, and import classifications.
  • Experience coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and clearing agents
  • Familiarity with import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, and customs-related documents.
  • Working knowledge of HS codes, customs duty calculations, valuation, and classification
  • Strong understanding of international shipping and import logistics processes.
  • Good coordination skills with suppliers, vendors, logistics partners, Finance, Procurement, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to identify and resolve shipment, customs, documentation, and operational issues effectively.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other digital documentation or ERP systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven and compliance-sensitive environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with external agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring continued import compliance.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, integrity, and attention to detail.
