Terms

The short version

Shortlist fills in job applications and sends them only after you approve each one. Everything sent goes out in your name, so the answers must be true. We charge for a number of applications per period; you can cancel any time and keep what you have paid for until the period ends. We cannot promise you a job, an interview, or a reply.

What Shortlist does

Shortlist finds job postings, drafts the answers an application asks for using your profile and resume, and submits the application to the employer's own system once you approve it. It is a web application: there is nothing to install, and it does not act inside your browser or on your LinkedIn account.

Your account

• You need to be 16 or older, and the account is yours alone — do not share it.
• The information in your profile must be true. Shortlist repeats what you give it.
• You are responsible for everything sent from your account, because you approved each send.

What you're agreeing to when you approve an application

Approval is the moment the application becomes yours. Once it is submitted to an employer,it cannot be recalled — the same as if you had filled the form in yourself. Please read the draft before approving it; that pause is the entire design of the product.

AI-drafted answers

Answers are drafted by an AI model from your profile, and models get things wrong. We do not guarantee that a drafted answer is accurate, complete or suitable — that is what the approval step is for. Reviewing the draft is your job, and once you approve it the answer is yours. If Pip cannot answer a question honestly from what you have given it, it stops and asks you rather than guessing.

What we won't do

We apply through employers' own public application systems, in the ordinary way a person would. We do not defeat security measures, we do not automate platforms whose rules forbid it, and we do not apply on your behalf to a job you have not seen and approved. If an employer asks us to stop accepting applications through Shortlist, we will.

Fair use

Plans are sold as a number of applications per period. Do not resell access, run the service on behalf of other people's accounts, or try to extract the job data in bulk — the board is free to browse and that is deliberate, but it is not a feed to be scraped.

Money

• Every account starts with 10 free applications, no card.
• Paid plans are prepaid for a week, a month or a quarter and renew automatically until cancelled.
• Payment is taken by Razorpay in India and Dodo Payments elsewhere. Prices are shown in your currency and include any tax those providers are required to collect.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep the applications you have paid for until the current period ends; we do not refund a part-used period.
• If an application fails for a reason on our side, that credit goes back to you. A credit is only kept when an application actually went out, or when it is waiting on an answer from you.
• If prices change, existing subscribers are told before the change applies to them.

What we can't promise

We cannot promise a job, an interview, a reply, or that any particular employer will accept an application. Job postings come from employers' own systems and may close, change or disappear without notice. The service is provided as it is — we work hard to make it reliable and we do not pretend it is infallible.

To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the three months before the problem. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using Shortlist and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend an account that is being used to send false information, to abuse employers' systems, or in breach of these terms — and we will tell you why.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we will email you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Shortlist afterwards means you accept the new version.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts there have jurisdiction.

Shortlist is a small, independent product. These terms describe honestly how the service works today, but they have not been reviewed by a lawyer — if something here matters to you and reads ambiguously, write to hello@shortlistapp.co and we will make it clearer rather than argue about it later.
