Senior Oracle DBA - (Enterprise Banking)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle Database Engineer to support enterprise Technology Platforms and Data Platforms initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Database Administration, performance tuning, database architecture, and automation of repetitive DBA activities using modern automation technologies.
The role requires strong experience managing large-scale Oracle environments, supporting critical database platforms, performing optimization activities, and implementing automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple technology projects simultaneously, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Key Responsibilities • Perform end-to-end Oracle database administration activities across enterprise technology environments.
- • Support technology projects involving Oracle database platforms, upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.
- • Perform Oracle database performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- • Conduct SQL tuning, database tuning, and performance improvement activities.
- • Manage Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments and ensure high availability.
- • Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard environments for disaster recovery and business continuity.
- • Perform database patching, upgrades, maintenance, and release activities.
- • Execute database migration activities across different environments.
- • Manage backup, recovery, and restore activities using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
- • Monitor and manage Oracle environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- • Automate repetitive Oracle DBA operational tasks using automation tools and scripting.
- • Develop automation workflows using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Groovy.
- • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, DevOps, and engineering teams for database-related activities.
- • Support cloud-based database environments including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS.
- • Participate in Agile delivery processes, sprint planning, and technology initiatives.
- • Provide production support and participate in planned after-hours/weekend activities when required.
- • Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining delivery quality and operational stability.
Required Technical Skills
- Oracle Database Administration • Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- • Strong expertise in Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters).
- • Strong experience with Oracle Data Guard.
- • Strong experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- • Strong experience with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery.
- • Strong knowledge of Oracle database patching and upgrades.
- • Strong experience in Oracle performance tuning including:
SQL tuning
- Database tuning
- Query optimization
- Performance troubleshooting
- Database & Programming Skills • Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
- • Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
- • Strong scripting experience using:
Bash scripting
- Python scripting
- Cloud & Automation Skills • Experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- • Experience working with AWS cloud environments.
- • Experience automating DBA activities using:
Ansible
- Git
- Jenkins

- Preferred Skills • Experience working with large-scale enterprise organizations.
- • Banking or financial services domain experience is preferred.
- • Experience supporting analytical database environments is an advantage.
- • Relevant Oracle certifications are preferred.
- • Exposure to DevOps practices and automation-driven infrastructure management.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- • 8+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration within large enterprise environments.
- • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- • Strong experience supporting business-critical database platforms.
